Among other things, Christians are called to be:
1) CHILDREN OF GOD
‘To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become the children of God” (John 1:12 NIV).
“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:26 NIV).
How then should we behave as children? We should LOVE, REVERE, OBEY, and SERVE Him.
2) FAMILY OF GOD/ BODY OF CHRIST/ CHURCH/HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH
“So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” (Romans 12:5 NIV).
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27 NIV).
“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Galatians 6:10 NIV).
3) AMBASSADORS (Representing Christ in all we do and say)
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us” (2 Corinthians 5:20 NIV).
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds, and praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV).
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men” (Matthew 5:13 NIV).
6) SOUL WINNERS
“Come follow me and I will make you fishers of men” (Mark 1:17 NIV).
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations . . .” (Matthew 28:19 NIV).
7) PRIESTS / INTERCESSORS
“With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints (Christians)” (Ephesians 6:18 NIV).
“Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” James 5:16 NIV).
“Brothers, pray for us” (1 Thessalonians 5:25 NIV).
MEMORY VERSE: “Brothers, pray for us” (1 thessalonians 5;25 NIV).
